Elementary Schools

Hamilton County is home to 46 elementary schools serving students in grades K-5. Elementary schools are supervised by the Elementary Education division.

The average class size in elementary school is 19:1 in grades K-3 and 22:1 in grades 4-5.

Elementary students follow the district-approved curriculum which includes 90 minutes dedicated to literacy (reading, writing, language arts) daily along with 60 minutes of mathematics instruction. The day is rounded out with science, social studies and related arts courses.

Sixteen elementary schools around the county are actively engaged in reform through the Benwood Initiative.
