Hixson High

Hixson High School opened in 1966 and currently has an enrollment of approximately 726 in grades 9-12.At Hixson High School, we strive to provide an individualized, safe learning environment for all students to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially in order to be productive, global citizens.

Hixson High School has been recognized for promoting excellence in education by the U.S. Department of Education, the Carnegie Foundation and was a member of Coalition of Essential Schools. A major change occurred in the building when in 2006-07 the school became wall-to-wall academies: PRIDE Academy (9th grade), MASH Academy (math, science, health, family, and consumer sciences), and WILD Academy (humanities, fine arts, and leadership).
