Curriculum & Instruction
The Elementary and Secondary Education divisions (formerly referred to as Curriculum and Instruction) deal with all facets of curriculum, instruction, teaching and learning in the school district. These areas include K-12 Literacy and Math, Career and Technical Education, Special Education, Federal Programs, Humanities, JROTC, ESOL, Testing and Accountability, Magnet Schools, Parent Engagement, Pre-K programs, Special Programs, Innovative Programs and STARS.
These divisions are also responsible for alignment of the system's programs and curriculum to the newly adopted, more rigorous Tennessee State Standards and approved federal guidelines.
