Students Taking A Right Stand (STARS) is a non-profit organization that addresses issues to support a healthy school climate to enhance academic success. STARS supports schools with professional development (Olweus Bullying Prevention and School Wide Positive Behavior Suport), student training (peer mediation, conflict resolution, life skills, and anti-bullying), and alternative to full suspension for students suspended for tobacco and/or alcohol-related offenses. Safe Schools/Safe and Supportive Schools are key components of STARS' focus. STARS works closely with the Hamilton County Department of Education Safe Schools/Safe and Supportive Schools group.
