February 2011 Update

Hamilton February Update

Hamilton has been working hard to learn over 90 commands and skills such as turning lights on and off and tugging open doors. By assisting his future human partner with daily living activities, Hamilton will dramatically increase the person’s level of independence. Of course service dogs have tremendous emotional and social benefits as well including increased self-esteem and social interactions and decreased stress and loneliness. Many service dog owners report that they feel better physically and even visit the doctor less often as a result of their assistance dog. Hamilton is on his way to making a huge difference in someone’s life thanks to the students of Hamilton County!
