Federally Funded Private Schools
The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (reauthorized as No Child Left Behind Act of 2001) provides private schools with access to federal funds. This year, 15 private schools in Hamilton County applied for federal funds from Title II-A (Teacher Professional Development). One private school in Hamilton County applied for and received federal funding from Title I-A (Children in Poverty). Private schools that receive federal funds are under the same documentation requirements as public schools that receive federal funds.
