Career Tech

Briggs Smith ~ Director

Career and technical education programs focus on preparing students for skills that can help them choose a career or be successful in the workplace upon graduation from high school. This workforce development prepares students for specific jobs providing them with experience in the industry through their high school curriculum. These focused programs along with the LWIA (Labor and Workforce Investment Areas), Chamber of Commerce, and advisory programs build a firm future for our students.

Hamilton County delivers the majority of its Career and Technical education through Academies at each high school These academies partner with local business to bring relevance to the high school curriculum and deliver instruction through industry-based projects and themes. Academies are formed based on student interest and business participation and vary from school to school.
