Secondary Literacy

The Secondary Literacy department provides literacy curriculum and instruction support to all middle schools (6-8) and high schools (9-12) in the district. This department assists middle and high school teachers with implementing the district's literacy plan including language arts, reading, writing and grammar instruction. This department conducts Literacy Network meetings for lead Literacy teachers at each middle and high school to share best practices and help teachers refine their instructional methods and strategies. This department collaborates with Middle and High School Operations,Federal Programs, Magnet Schools, Character Education and Special Education on issues pertaining to middle and high school literacy efforts.
