School Transfers

Students residing in Hamilton County are zoned to schools close to their homes with transportation provided by the system in most cases.  There are options to attend other schools if you meet certain criteria.  Limited transportation is provided in certain cases.   In order to simplify the procedures for requesting a change in school placement, two available options are listed below.

2011-2012

Hardship Transfer Request - Application period is May 2, 2011 – June 15, 2011

  • These requests include medical needs and other priority situations.
  • The criteria for this type of request is very limited.

  •  Transportation is not provided for these transfers.
  • Students may not ride a Hamilton County Bus to or from school on a Hardship Transfer.

  • Transportation is provided for these transfers; however, if the child misses the bus or is removed from the bus, it is the parent’s responsibility to transport the child.
