School Support Personnel
The Hamilton County Department of Education houses a Central Office off Bonny Oaks and Hickory Valley Road as well as an annex in the old City of Chattanooga Public Schools office on West 40th street and the maintenance depot off Dodds Avenue.
There are roughly 236 employees who work directly for Central Office. These employees are based in one of the three locations listed above.
Of the 236 employees in Central Office, roughly 90 work directly for the maintenance department. The remaining 156 employees support the daily business operations of the system (accounts payable, finance, payroll, purchasing, warehouse, mail delivery) as well as provide curriculum and instruction support, communications, administration, human resources, benefits, child care and school nutrition (cafeteria management for all schools).
