Howard Students Present in Washington, D.C.
Chattanooga, TN -- This week students from the Howard School presented their plans for comprehensive community development in Chattanooga to the faculty of Howard University School of Law and the United States Department of Education in Washington, D.C.
“My colleagues and I were blown away by the students' presentations, and they should all be commended for a job well done,” said Khyla D. Crain, a representative from Howard University School of Law. “I am already excited to see the growth in the young people when they return to Howard Law next year.”
The Howard School students selected for this project participate in either the school’s debate team or the leadership program. Their program at Howard University School of Law included a tour of the university, a debate and a presentation of the economic and crime prevention elements of their comprehensive community development plan for Chattanooga.
These students also presented the education component of their development plan to the United States Department of Education Wednesday morning.
“They are impressing scholars,” Paul Smith, Howard High School principal, said. “This is indicative of the types of students we have at Howard. We are so proud of them.”
