Chattanooga, TN – Educators from around the country will visit the Scenic City next week as the Hamilton County Department of Education and the National Center for Youth Issues co-host the Thirteenth Annual National Healthy Minds & Strong Bodies conference at The Chattanoogan.

Nearly 400 educators are expected to attend one of the leading conferences in the country. In its thirteenth year, the conference has hosted more than 5000 attendees.

The two-day conference will feature the nation’s top authorities on topics such as bullying, health and wellness, addiction-abuse issues, and family systems. Keynote speakers include: Tara Brown and Jonathan Friesen.

“We are extremely proud to host this conference each year,” said Hamilton County Schools Superintendent Rick Smith.  “I know this conference will provide useful information, strategies, and best practices to assist teachers as they work with their students.”

Conference co-host The National Center for Youth Issues, a Chattanooga-based non-profit organization provides resources on character and life skills development.

Nancy Reed, Special Programs Director for the Hamilton County Department of Education, and Robert Rabon, president of the National Center for Youth Issues, are the conference’s event coordinators. Conference attendees will be able to participate in 26 sessions featuring school counselors, administrators, teachers and trainers.

Educators throughout the southeast will have an opportunity to visit our city while sharing information with their colleagues and learning from key stakeholders in the field of education.
