Ms. Ellington had this to say about her Junior League Mini-Grant:
"I can't express how grateful I am to the Junior League for their generosity. This makes the 5th or 6th small grant I have been awarded. They call them "small" but they are huge when it comes to learning and the experiences that my students have gained.
For this particular grant award, I had been given Carolina microscopes (but no slides). So I decided to write a grant in order to get some basic slides. I had no idea they were as expensive as they were, but I purchased several sets that address 4th grade science, for example, plant/animal cells, and pond life.
As you could see, the excitement about learning is the payoff with my students.
I will use TCAP scores plus other summative assessments to gauge the success of this purchase."
