Pancake Extravaganza III
For three years, the first graders at Daisy have been eating pancakes thanks to the Junior League. One of the stories in our readers is "If You Give a Pig a Pancake." First graders like pancakes too. One day during the week, we eat pancakes in the cafeteria with optional toppings of whipped cream, syrup, and chocolate chips. The students enjoy this activity so much. This year they were able to invite two adult guests. We hosted about 160 people. After each class enjoys their pancakes, the adults come to the classroom for crafts, fannelboard activites, and/or reader's theater. Also the Junior League donated a hardcover copy of the new book "If You Give a Dog a Doughnut" for the libraries of each of the five first grade sections. A good time was had by all!
