Family Resource Center

Many children and families in the state of Tennessee are working to overcome challenges that can make it difficult for children to successfully learn and grow. In 1993, when the Tennessee legislature formally recognized that schools were in the best position to connect families to effective prevention and intervention programs, they granted authority to local education agencies (such as Hamilton County Schools) to create Family Resource Centers. Across the state of Tennessee, FRCs work proactively to establish collaborative partnerships with parents, communities and business leaders, state and local service agencies, public and private organizations.

Every FRC in the state of Tennessee shares a unified mission: to assist families through information and training, and to help families learn to resolve problems through the collaborative efforts of many disciplines within the community (educational, medical, psychological, business and social services).

Family Resource Center LogoThe Hamilton County Schools Family Resource Center exists to extend this service and mission to the residents of Hamilton County. Whether your family is experiencing challenges related to: lack of food, clothing, or shelter; a dangerous environment because of abuse or domestic violence; needs for medical attention due to physical or mental health; education and academic challenges for both children and adults within the home; or any number of other obstacles that can arise during any season of life, the HCS FRC is here to serve you and your children.

If you have a question or need help, don’t hesitate to reach out to us! If you are a service agency or partner and you would like to make sure we're aware of you, shoot us a message.
