Today’s #HCSHeroes Spotlight is Kelsey Miles, a math teacher at Sale Creek High School. Ms. Miles, who also serves as a basketball coach, has been a leader at her school by supporting her colleagues with transitioning to blended learning this year.
“Ms. Miles has been the ultimate team player,” said Dr. LeeAnn Welch, principal at Sale Creek Middle/High School. “She acquired blended learning knowledge throughout the summer, worked to creatively set up her classes for virtual learning and used her professional development time, planning time, and after-school time to help other teachers. We have been blessed by her hard work and positive attitude!”
Ms. Miles credits her supportive team at Sale Creek as the reason she’s been successful during this unusual school year. She also says she has a great group of students that make her job easier.
“My students have taken on this challenge with lots of grace and determination,” said Ms. Miles. “We like to try out different online platforms to find out what works best for not only those in the classroom, but for those at home as well.”
The efforts of our teachers and staff are truly heroic, and we are proud to have people like Ms. Miles on our team to support our students!
