Today’s teacher spotlight shines on Tina Cotreau, a science teacher at Central High School. I am Hamilton” spotlights the contributions of alumni, teachers, parents, students, support workers, and community members in providing opportunities for children in the classrooms of Hamilton County Schools. Better opportunities for children today mean a brighter future filled with possibilities for our graduates, their families, and the community.

Tina is a light for anyone who comes into contact with her,” said Chelsea Long, the counselor at Central High. “She represents the best of Hamilton County Schools.”

Tina Cotreau is known as an unsung hero for the kids at Central High School. She teaches science and goes the extra mile to make sure the teens in her class are successful. The other teachers also know her as an amazing co-worker who will step in and help anywhere there is a need.

“She contributes to staff morale by organizing potlucks for birthdays and brings food to the homes of co-workers who are struggling with personal issues,” added Long. “She does all of this because it genuinely brings her joy to make others smile, and this is the case for her students and her co-workers.”

A different teacher will be featured in “I am Hamilton” each day this week during Teacher Appreciation Week.
