“I am Hamilton” spotlights Isabella Ford, with Longhorn Steakhouse in Hixson for Longhorns support of Special Olympics and Hixson High School. “I am Hamilton” spotlights the contributions of alumni, teachers, parents, students, support workers, and community members in providing opportunities for children in the classrooms of Hamilton County Schools. Better opportunities for children today mean a brighter future filled with possibilities for our graduates, their families, and the community.
“Longhorn Steakhouse in Hixson has been a part of our work-based learning program for special needs students for more than 12 years,” said Tina Gower, CDC teacher and work-based learning coordinator at Hixson High School. “This year, we approached Longhorn for help with catering our very first Special Olympics banquet for Hixson High and Isabella was not only excited to cater the meal for us but informed us that all of the food would be donated!”
The banquet for Special Olympics at Hixson will now be a very special event for the athletes, parents, and coaches. Longhorn has also volunteered to put together a group of employees to support future events at Hixson High.
“Longhorn also has a history of volunteering treats for school parties and events,” added Gower. “Longhorn and Isabella Ford are tremendous community partners supporting the children of the community.”
