It takes a community to raise a child.

Hamilton County Schools has 13 special education classes that are housed within district schools that are geared to meet the needs of those preschool children who warrant a comprehensive developmental program. In addition, Hamilton County contracts with Signal Centers and Siskin Early Learning Centers. Speech and language services for preschool children determined to be eligible and requiring only speech / language therapy are available at every elementary school. The district's comprehensive developmental programs are staffed with trained teachers and assistants to provide services in the areas of early academic readiness, self-help, communication, and the social / emotional domains to facilitate the acquisition of developmentally appropriate skills and prepare them for kindergarten.

For additional information regarding the assessment process for preschool aged children, visit the PALS page under Exceptional Education.
