Family & Community Engagement
Partnerships are key to the success of our school system. The bright futures we envision for every student is a shared responsibility between our schools, families, businesses, faith communities, community organizations, and others.

Family and Community Engagement (FCE) is the collaborative efforts of schools, families, and community members in regular and meaningful communication, decision-making, and action involving student academic learning and other school activities. Research shows that when schools, families, and communities work together, students earn higher grades, attend school more regularly, stay in school, and are motivated.

The FCE Department is dedicated to increasing engagement, developing strong relationships, and intentionally building the capacity of schools, families, and the community to support a shared vision for student success. Working together as equal partners, we can ensure that all students thrive and experience a future without limits.

Core Beliefs:

  • Equity: We believe family and community engagement should be designed to remove barriers, increase access and opportunities, and improve knowledge and skills to support the education and success of the children in our community regardless of zip code, race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status.
  • Collective Impact: We believe that families, schools, and community members have a common purpose and share responsibility in ensuring that all students have access to high-quality education in and out of school.
  • Authentic Engagement: We believe that families and community members are equal partners in successful student outcomes and should be engaged through consistent and meaningful two-way communication to identify goals and improvement opportunities.

Guiding Pathways:

  • Strong Relationships
  • Intentional Collaboration
