Deanna Henderson & Rhonda Shown

Today’s #HCSHeroes Spotlights are Deanne Henderson, secretary at Lookout Valley Middle/High School, and Rhonda Shown, attendance clerk at Lookout Valley Middle/High School. The pair work together in the school’s front office to ensure families and teachers have the support they need.

“They have been providing support to all teachers, whatever it takes,” said Lee Ann McBryar, the school’s principal. “The kindness and customer service that I hear them provide is top notch, even when I can tell they are bearing the brunt of a frustrated parent, they keep it cool. Both worked countless hours over the summer supporting me, without compensation because they want what is best for LVMHS!”

Not only do Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. Shown do a great job supporting the Lookout Valley school community together, they also enjoy working with each other. “My favorite part about my job is being able to work as a team in the front office with Mrs. Henderson,” said Mrs. Shown. “Mrs. Henderson and I work as a team with many different opportunities to serve. One of the ways we like to serve is by creating an atmosphere of calmness, safety, and care. We enjoy getting to know the students, parents, and staff and helping meet their needs.”

Mrs. Shown adds, “I feel we all work together as a team here at LVMHS to help students see their worth, to help them aspire to learn and grow, to help them see who they are now and who and what they can be and will be in their future!”

The efforts of our teachers and staff are truly heroic, and we are proud to have people like Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. Shown on our team to support our students!
