Heroes are not always people who do spectacular deeds but instead are often simply everyday individuals who determine to take an opportunity to act and make a difference. Janie Frick, a family partnership specialist at East Brainerd Elementary, is one of those special people choosing to make a difference. She is honored with an I Am Hamilton shirt and recognized as an HCS Hero.

“Janie Frick works tirelessly for the families and students at East Brainerd Elementary as she coordinates to find helpful avenues of assistance for our families and students who have needs of any kind,” said Lisa Steele, the music teacher at Apison Elementary. “Since the devastating tornado in the East Brainerd area, Mrs. Frick has gone above and beyond her duties to coordinate ways to help students in need.”

Lisa Steele, was the music teacher at East Brainerd Elementary last year when the Easter Sunday tornado ripped through the community and damaged East Brainerd Elementary, along with many of the homes of students and staff at the school.

Frick is always known to be available when needed in the community and for having a giving heart and a humble spirit. After the tornado, the East Brainerd Elementary faculty had a drive-thru donations line for the families who lost so much in the damage, and Janie Frick and her team worked tirelessly to make sure our students had whatever they needed.

“Janie Frick has a huge heart for those in need, and she has a wonderful spirit of giving and a deep, sincere love for children,” added Steele. “She makes a huge difference in the lives of so many in the community and the East Brainerd Elementary administration, faculty, and staff love and appreciate all she does every day. Working with her on Tuesday, April 21, at CSLA made my heart smile.”
