HCS Students Named 2021 Carson ScholarsChattanooga, Tenn. (March 16, 2021) – The Carson Scholars Fund recently recognized forty-seven Hamilton County Schools students as 2021 Carson Scholars and awarded each student a $1,000 college scholarship. Thirty-two of these students are also 2021 Recognized Carson Scholars because they are repeat winners of the award.

The Carson Scholars Fund honors students who excel academically and are committed to giving themselves, their time, and their talents to others. This year’s scholar selections include the 10,000th scholarship awarded by the organization, taking them one step closer to co-founders Dr. and Mrs. Ben Carson’s ultimate goal of naming a Carson Scholar at every school in the country.

“Hamilton County Schools is thrilled to see our list of Carson Scholars continue to grow each year,” said Dr. Bryan Johnson, Superintendent of Hamilton County Schools. “Our Future Ready 2023 strategic plan focuses on accelerating the achievement of our students and ensuring every student is prepared for the path they choose in postsecondary. To see our students continue to receive these kinds of honors is validation of our work.”

All forty-seven Hamilton County Schools students will be honored and recognized at festivities this fall hosted by the Carson Scholars Fund. To see a complete list of Hamilton County Schools’ 2021 Carson Scholars, click here.
