Student working in a lab in Hamilton County SchoolsHamilton County Schools has developed a new way for community leaders to experience the school district and the rewards and challenges of preparing the community’s children for future success. Leadership Hamilton County Schools is coming this fall to foster informed citizen leaders and transform communities. The series of sessions will begin in September and run through April of next year.

Participants in the new program will experience the district’s vision for becoming the fastest improving school district in Tennessee, governance processes in public education, how the district is preparing graduates for success, developing a school district budget, and engaging the community in our schools. The participants will even have the opportunity to become a “principal for the day” to see what it is like to run a public school.

Leadership Hamilton County Schools will broaden participants knowledge of the school district, increase the number and effectiveness of education advocates in the community, equip community leaders to respond to the challenges faced by Hamilton County Schools and public education, and provide connections to community leaders.
