“I am Hamilton” spotlights the contributions of alumni, teachers, parents, students, support workers, and community members in providing opportunities for children in the classrooms of Hamilton County Schools. Better opportunities for children today mean a brighter future filled with possibilities for our graduates, their families, and the community.
Today, “I am Hamilton” spotlights our first student Rizwaan Abdul, a junior at STEM School Chattanooga, a magnet program in the Missionary Ridge Learning Community. “The staff here at STEM School are very nice and focused on the needs of individual students,“ Abdul said.
As a class project, Abdul took on developing an online booking program for STEM School. He designed a program that fit the specific needs of the school.
Abdul called the new registration program Bük, and it impressed his principal Dr. Tony Donen so much that he was the first person he thought of when a local business called the school looking for an intern. A local travel business needed someone who could complete the company’s website. Donen knew from working with the Bük program, Rizwaan would be perfect for the job.
