Best of the Best logoThe Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences was recently named a Best of the best selection by the Times Free Press in the newspapers annual competition to find the people’s choice for the top schools, businesses, and service providers in the Tennessee Valley.

The Chattanooga School for Arts and Sciences won the 2018 Best Public School award. East Hamilton Middle/High School and Chattanooga Center for Creative Arts were finalists in the same category voted on by Times Free Press readers in the area. All three schools were recognized at a banquet held recently to honor the top picks and finalists.

The students and staff of Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences can add the local honor to the school’s recent state and national recognitions for excellence in the classroom. CSAS was one of 25 schools in the district recognized with the top honor as a Level 5 school for academic growth by the state in 2018. Both the upper and lower schools for Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences were recognized as Reward schools by the state for 2018. Reward status is the top distinction a school can earn in Tennessee. CSAS was also ranked at 21 in the top 30 high schools in Tennessee on the Niche online list of the 2019 Best schools in America. Niche is a website that grades schools, companies, and neighborhoods across the United States.

Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences is a National Certified Magnet school and was ranked in the top ten in U.S. News and World Report list of Best High Schools in Tennessee for 2017 and 2018.
