“I am Hamilton” spotlights teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week. Today’s teacher spotlight shines on Leora Coleman, a fifth-grade teacher at Alpine Crest Elementary School. I am Hamilton” spotlights the contributions of alumni, teachers, parents, students, support workers, and community members in providing opportunities for children in the classrooms of Hamilton County Schools. Better opportunities for children today mean a brighter future filled with possibilities for our graduates, their families, and the community.
“No matter how tough the task she is up to the challenge to help her students learn,” said Jennifer French, STEM teacher at Alpine Crest.
“I love my teacher because she is amazing and wonderful,” said Taurai Dowdy, a fifth-grade student in Ms. Coleman’s class. “I am a better reader now because she is such a great teacher!”
“I see her working extra hard with her students to make sure they do not just improve in writing and reading but improve as human beings,” added French. “She makes sure everyone is included in class activities, and no one is excluded.
A different teacher will be featured in “I am Hamilton” each day this week during Teacher Appreciation Week.
