Three Hamilton County high schools among the state’s best

Students perform at Chattanooga High Center for Creative ArtsThree high schools in Hamilton County Schools are in the top 30 best high schools in the state in the Niche ratings of 2019 Best Schools in America. The Chattanooga High School Center for Creative Arts (CCA), is ranked in the top 20 public high schools in Tennessee coming in at 20 in the Niche review. Right behind CCA is the Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences (CSAS) at 21, and Signal Mountain Middle/High School at 27. The high school rankings were developed comparing the 347 public high schools in Tennessee.

Niche is a website that ranks schools, companies, and neighborhoods across the United States. You can search the Niche website for the top picks by state or county to get more specific results. Niche gives letter grades based on academics, food, administration, college prep offerings, health and safety, clubs and activities, and more. Niche calculates the grades by gathering data and reviews, analysis, and considering user insights.

The three schools ranked in the top 30, CCA, CSAS, and Signal Mountain Middle/High School all received A grades. This score came from their outstanding teachers, college prep offerings, diversity, health and safety, and academics. Some of the other top public schools in Hamilton County received B+ grades included STEM School Chattanooga, the Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts, and Westview Elementary.

Chattanooga High Center for Creative Arts was also rated the #6 Magnet School in the state and the #18 Best College Prep High School in Tennessee. CSAS and Lookout Mountain Elementary School ranked as schools with some of the best teachers. STEM School Chattanooga also made the list of the top 5 high schools in the Chattanooga area.
