Opportunity by Design

The mission of HCS is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and support to THRIVE in life. While we know this mission starts with a primary focus on academics, we also understand from listening to our community that a student must possess qualities beyond academics to excel in the real world. We strive to create graduates who embody our "Portrait of a Graduate" with skills rooted in academics, problem-solving, effective communication, cultural inclusivity, and resiliency.

🎶 Congratulations to Neshawn Calloway, Vocal Music Director at Center for Creative Arts (CCA), on being named a CMA Foundation Music Teacher of Excellence — for the second time! She is one of just 20 educators across Tennessee to receive this prestigious honor.Calloway earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis and her master’s in Music Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. During her 24 years at CCA, she has brought music to life in the classroom."I get to do my favorite thing—make music every day," she said. Outside the classroom, she performs as the lead singer of Sound Advice and enjoys tending to her flowers. We are incredibly grateful for the skill, joy, and passion she brings to music education.
