Ronye Watson, a standout senior at Central High School, is making waves both on and off the football field. At 17 years old, Watson has crafted an impressive athletic resume while maintaining a strong focus on academics and family. As his final high school season unfolds, he is determined to leave a lasting impact.

Alpine Crest Elementary School's Elementary BETA Club, under the guidance of sponsor teacher Clarissa Williams and recently retired educator Lisa Millard, continues to make significant strides in community service and student leadership. The BETA club has become a spotlight example of community connection and student engagement in Hamilton County Schools (HCS).

Hamilton County Schools, with the support of the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation, launched the HCS Book Bus. The HCS Book Bus aims to foster a love for reading among children by making literature more accessible.

Nick Mullins, a dedicated strength and conditioning coach, adaptive P.E. teacher, and defensive line coach for the football team at Signal Mountain Middle/High School, has quickly become an essential part of the school’s community. Now in his second year at SMMHS, with nearly 20 years of teaching and coaching experience, Mullins channels his passion for health and personal development in every aspect of his role.

Red Bank Elementary held a ribbon cutting ceremony for their new Storybook Trail on Thursday, August 29, 2024. The opening was attended by several community members, including School Board District 2 Lead Ben Daugherty and his family, Assistant Principal Lindsey Hagan, a representee from the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, and more. The trail is now officially open to all community members, welcoming families big and small.

Brainerd High School’s College and Career Pathways are designed to prepare students for life after high school by equipping them with essential skills and real-world experiences. Through Early Post Secondary Opportunities (EPSOs), students can earn college credits and gain hands-on professional training while still in high school, giving them a significant head start on their future educational or career paths.

August is National Immunization Awareness Month, and as Hamilton County Schools (HCS) students head back to classrooms for the year, HCS has established strategies across the district for helping students stay healthy.
