Programs

Hamilton County Schools has 18 Developmental Learning Programs (D.L.P.s) that are housed within district schools that are geared to meet the needs of those preschool children who warrant a comprehensive developmental program. In addition, Hamilton County contracts with Signal Centers. Speech and language services for preschool children determined to be eligible and requiring only speech/language therapy are available at every elementary school. Our D.L.P. programs are staffed with trained teachers and assistants to provide services in the areas of early academic readiness, self-help, communication, and the social/emotional domains to facilitate the acquisition of developmentally appropriate skills and prepare them for kindergarten.
