One Million Acts of Kindness

Vision

"HCS will be a district in which social factors are not predictive of student outcomes. We are committed to building and sustaining a learning environment that embraces racial, ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic diversity while holding high expectations for the educational success
of ALL students."

Initiative

Hamilton County staff and students will collectively demonstrate one million acts of kindness over the course of the 2022-2023 school to further foster student-to-student, student-to-educator, and student-to-school community relationships. The initiative will include student voice by providing examples of kindness that can be replicated within their schools, student acknowledgment for acts of kindness, and kindness tracking

Definition

"Tennessee defines bullying as unwanted, aggressive behavior that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. The imbalance of power involves the use of physical strength, access to embarrassing information, or popularity to control or harm others."
