School Counseling


Hamilton County Department of Education school counseling programs play an important role in the educational process for students. School counselors work with students, families, communities, and staff to address issues having a substantial impact on students' social/emotional development, career, and academic achievement.  Throughout Hamilton County, counselors are determined to present a comprehensive counseling program that increases educating the whole child and support students reaching their full potential.

Our school counseling department is committed to delivering a comprehensive counseling program to increase our students' academic achievement and social/emotional intelligence as well as develop ready graduates for college and career success.

  • Academic development:  School-counseling program implements strategies and activities to support and maximize learning.

  • Career development:  Serve as a guide to provide the foundation for acquiring the attitudes, knowledge and skills that enable students to make a successful transition from school to the world of work and from job to job across the career life span.

  • Social/Emotional:  Development provide the foundation for personal and social growth, which contributes to academic and career success.
