CCA opened new recording studioChattanooga, Tennessee- Chattanooga High School Center for Creative Arts (CCA) celebrated a momentous occasion on Sept. 6 with the official ribbon-cutting for its state-of-the-art recording studio, made possible by the state’s Innovative Schools Model (ISM) grant. This cutting-edge facility represents a significant milestone for CCA, offering students invaluable hands-on experience and exciting new opportunities for learning and creative exploration.

As part of Tennessee’s ongoing commitment to bring Innovative School Models (ISMs) to every public middle and high school in the state, the Tennessee Department of Education awarded over $560 million in ISM grants across 137 public school districts and 45 public charter schools to invest in students and their postsecondary success.

With the expansion of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in schools across Tennessee, Hamilton County Schools wrote the ISM grant for all middle and high schools last September and funds were awarded in November.

Prior to this development, CCA did not offer career and technical education courses in the past, but the funding received through the ISM initiative has transformed the basement of CCA into a creative hub with a professional-grade recording studio.

“I am so excited this is a professional studio for our students to use," said Mr. Vincent Hale, CCA's Dean of Fine Arts. " Students don't have to wait until they get older for someone to record their work. They have an opportunity right here at Hamilton County Schools.”

Aida Pitre-Conley, an 11th grader at CCA majoring in vocals, shared her excitement about the studio: "I'm really excited. I have this class next. My dad works in the production industry, so I'll be learning from a professional perspective both at school and at home. Whether or not I pursue a career in music, having this knowledge and the ability to record here is a fantastic opportunity. I can't wait to see how my classmates utilize the equipment with their creativity."

This historic investment in CCA not only enhances the school's offerings but also paves the way for limitless opportunities for students. As CCA continues to build on this foundation, it sets the stage for a future without limits.
