Senior Spotlight- Hassidy NealChattanooga, Tenn. - Hassidy Neal, Red Bank High School senior, wins first place in the Tennessee Association of School Librarians (TASL) Bookmark contest.

Hassidy's winning artwork, featuring a delightful raccoon drawing, earned her the top spot in the TASL Bookmark contest with the theme 'Anything is possible in your school library.' Ms. Watkins, Red Bank High Librarian, was grateful for Hassidy showcasing school library opportunities, saying, "The library isn't just a quiet place to find books; it is a thriving living place for everyone, and it is always here for you. I am glad Hassidy was able to encompass that idea in her design."

Hassidy's enjoyment of art has been lifelong, but she began to explore different art forms more seriously through the encouragement and support of her art teacher, Ms. Burnett, and the opportunities at Red Bank High. The TASL contest was Hassidy's second art contest of the year; she started the year earning second place at Chattanooga Comic Con. Hassidy credits her participation in such contests to encouragement from Ms. Burnett, Red Bank High Art Teacher, and Ms. Watkins.

Hassidy is grateful for her teachers at Red Bank and their belief in her talents. She said if there was one thing she could tell other students, it is to take a risk and enter contests such as these, stating, "There is no penalty if you don't win, but trying and stepping outside of your comfort zone is what matters."

After graduation, Hassidy plans to pursue her associate in Business at Chattanooga State and later open an art studio. Her success reminds all students that stepping out of comfort zones and embracing new challenges can lead to remarkable achievements. Hamilton County Schools congratulates Hassidy Neal on her well-deserved victory and wishes her all the best in her future endeavors.
