Purpose: To create opportunities for a diverse group of community stakeholders to experience Hamilton County Schools in a unique way. Participants will experience both the successes and challenges of how our leading school district is able to provide excellent support to our students. 

Mission: To enhance the understanding of public education in Hamilton County, leading to better-informed public servants and business/civic leaders.

Program Goals:

  • Broaden participants' knowledge of the school district
  • Increase the strength and effectiveness of our educational advocates
  • Equip participants with the skills to respond to challenges of the school district and public education
  • Provide opportunities for contact between community leaders, district leaders, and schools

Program Details:

  • This program is designed for community leaders from the business, nonprofit, faith, and government sectors
  • Applicants must reside or be employed within Hamilton County and be at least 21 years of age at the time of application. 
  • Leadership HCS requires full participation, and cohort members are expected to attend all sessions held monthly beginning in September through May from 8:00am-12:30pm.      
  • Tuition is a suggested donation of $100 to cover the cost of meals during the program.
