Chattanooga - April 30, 2021 – Hamilton County Schools instructional coach and teacher Brandi Adam was named an Extraordinary Educator by Curriculum Associates, a leading education partner that is serving more than 10 million teachers and students in 50 states.
Ms. Adam was recognized by the Tennessee Legislature and Gov. Bill Lee. The national honor was presented in a resolution (SJR0104) introduced by Senator Bo Watson. Senator Watson and Community Superintendent Robert Sharpe joined the Red Bank Elementary School team led by Principal Haley Brown in celebrating Ms. Adam today.

Before today, only one teacher in Tennessee had received this prestigious state recognition; Adam now makes that two. Along with Ms. Adam are 44 other teachers in 26 states that have been recognized as Extraordinary Educator. The state and Curriculum Associates recognize educators based on their classroom excellence, including their successes during the remote learning period dating back to last March. They were commended for exhibiting best-in-class use of Curriculum Associates' i-Ready and Ready programs and their innovative practices for student engagement and students' growth via formal assessments.
"A student's education is one of the most valuable tools they will ever be given, so instructional decisions should not be based on what someone merely thinks or believes. Something as valuable as education should be based on FACTS that we KNOW; therefore, the use of data to drive instruction is imperative to ensure a quality learning experience," Ms. Adam said.
