Hamilton County Schools will host a Teacher Hiring Event on Saturday, February 22, from 9 a.m. to noon at Ooltewah High School, 6123 Mountain View Road, Ooltewah, TN. The event seeks to find the very best teaching candidates to fill openings for the next school year.

A high-quality teacher is the most important factor in a child’s success in school. That is why providing great teachers and leaders is a key action area in the school district’s five-year action plan Future Ready 2023. Hamilton County Schools is seeking teachers who will make a difference in the lives of children and prepare them for success in life after graduation.

“The process of recruiting the very best teachers available never stops,” said Keith Fogleman, chief talent officer for Hamilton County Schools. “The annual Teacher Hiring Event is a great opportunity for new and experienced teachers interested in working in Hamilton County Schools to connect with our principals and learn how the school system supports teachers.”

Hamilton County Schools seeks to attract new talent, but the district also focuses on supporting talented teachers already in our classrooms. The district features the Teacher Academy that helps beginning teachers get off to a great start. Hamilton County Schools developed a year-long support system for new teachers called the New Teacher Network that includes mentors to continue to support new professionals, and the district provides regular professional learning.

“Not only is Hamilton County Schools committed to recruiting and selecting top talent, but we are focused on retaining talented teachers with competitive rewards, first-class professional development, and opportunities to grow in a career,” added Fogleman.

With over 70 schools located in urban, rural, and suburban areas, there are a variety of options available for candidates to choose from in Hamilton County Schools. Candidates interested in attending the event are encouraged to pre-register. Hamilton County Schools employs over 3,000 certified teachers and anticipates hiring approximately 300 teachers for the 2020-2021 school year.
