School Nurse Appreciation Week
Posted on 05/10/2019
Since 1972, National School Nurse Week has been celebrated to show our school nurses how much they mean to the success of our schools and our children. May 6-12, 2019 is National School Nurse Week. The week is celebrated annually in May in honor of the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.Thank you card for school nurses.

Five ways a school nurse benefits the school (From the National Association of School Nurses)
1. Attendance improves from school nurses promoting good health, disease prevention, and disease management.
2. Academic performance improves because children are in school regularly and arrive in class ready to learn.
3. School nurses save time for teachers by addressing the health concerns of students.
4. General health of the staff at the school improves.
5. Accountability for schools to federal and state law is improved by school nurses.

We take this opportunity to honor the important role school nurses play in improving the lives of children in our schools. Thank you for what you do each day!
