The district presents the special shirts to individuals for efforts that positively impact Hamilton County Schools and the children we serve.

The girls’ cross country coach of the year award was presented to Carpenter recently by the State High School Association. The Times Free Press also named Carpenter a Best of Preps coach of the year.

Carpenter coached the Lady Eagles cross country team to their second consecutive state championship this past season and the fifth in six years.

“I am Hamilton” spotlights the contributions of alumni, teachers, parents, students, support workers, and community members providing opportunities for children in the classrooms of Hamilton County Schools. Better opportunities for children today mean a brighter future filled with possibilities for our graduates, their families, and the community. James Howard will be the subject of an “I Am Hamilton” video feature next week.
