Max Burk, a senior at Signal Mountain Middle/High, received an “I Am Hamilton” t-shirt for scoring the maximum composite score of 36 on the ACT, Hamilton County Schools presents the special shirts to individuals for efforts that positively impact Hamilton County Schools and the children we serve.
“I have been in Signal Mountain schools since third-grade, and I can honestly say that the school has helped me a lot with the resources that it has and the teachers really help you prepare,” Burk said. “I would also like to credit the gifted program because it helped me prepare and utilize my time well in school.”
Bumper Reese, assistant principal of Signal Mountain Middle/High, presented the shirt to Burk at the school.
“I am generally a good test taker, but that in and of itself is not enough,” Burk added. “Studying, taking practice tests, and taking the ACT multiple times really helped me to improve my score.”
Burk is also a well-rounded student as he plays soccer, participates in Quiz Bowl, BETA Club, Youth in Government, and he is a National Merit Semi-finalist.
“I am Hamilton” spotlights the contributions of alumni, teachers, parents, students, support workers, and community members providing opportunities for children in the classrooms of Hamilton County Schools.
