In response to COVID-19, the U.S. Congress passed the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021 enacted on March 11, 2021. Hamilton County Schools has been granted $91 million as part of the third relief package known as ESSER 3.0 or ARPA. ESSER funds are provided to state educational agencies and school districts to help safely reopen and sustain the safe operation of schools and address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the nation’s students.
Hamilton County Schools has developed a plan to use ESSER 3.0 funds after reviewing the feedback provided by the community. The district strives to be transparent in development of the required ESSER plans and budget.
