Two HCS Employees Presented Tennessee Association of School Social Worker AwardsChattanooga, Tenn. (Oct. 28, 2021) -- Two Hamilton County Schools employees, Linda Howerton and Karen Glenn, were presented with awards from the Tennessee Association of School Social Workers on Wednesday, October 6th.

Linda Howerton, Social Worker at Hunter Middle and Ooltewah High, was presented the TASSW School Social Worker of the Year for exceptional service in her role.

Karen Glenn, Student Supports Director, was given the TASSW Friend to Children Award. This award is given to an individual who is not a social worker but has worked to improve the lives of Tennessee school children.

“Children in Hamilton County Schools thrive because of exceptional leaders like Linda Howerton and Karen Glenn,” said Dr. Nakia Towns, Interim Superintendent of Hamilton County Schools. “We celebrate them as HCS heroes and are honored to have them on our team.”
