Stop arm on a busOne of the anticipated services of the selection of First Student to provide bus service for Hamilton County Schools was access to the Parent App called FirstView that will allow parents to track buses on their routes. The app is available for download now, and it will be active for parent use by October. After the download, parents will find that Tennessee and Hamilton County Schools is not an available option in the app. The app is in final development to connect to the Hamilton County Schools bus routing software that will activate the tool for parents. First Student bus service and the app is available for buses 104 and above in the bus fleet of Hamilton County Schools.

The app will allow parents to know when the bus will arrive for a child to be picked up or dropped off. Parents will also be able to set the app for notifications. FirstView is a First Student product to provide increased communications about bus service to parents, school administrators, and transportation management.

The Transportation Department installed new software this year to schedule bus routes for the district. Bus routes and stops change each year with the movement of students in the district. If you have a question about bus stops or routes, please contact the Hamilton County Schools Transportation Department hotline at 423-498-5555. Extra personnel will be available for the rest of this week to talk with parents about bus issues and to take bus stop requests. There may be a large volume of call traffic. Please leave a message if you get a recording and someone will return the call. We thank parents for their patience as we work through route and stop scheduling for the beginning of a new school year.
